After reading & digesting the consultation material released by Warwickshire County Council (it didn’t take long to read because there isn’t exactly lots of it) we put together the following response documents.
Just to clarify. All the documents we have published here have been create using information we have found in Warwickshire County Council’s own reports, data & documentation or from publicly available sources.
In these documents you will find a comprehensive response to the FAQ booklet that the council has had delivered to 23,000 homes in the wider Nuneaton area.
As you will see this booklet contains information has been thoroughly refuted.
There is even a header stating ‘No real Alternative’ where in fact there is a very real alternative in the form of the A444 corridor improvements scheme as mentioned above.
Warwickshire County Council will argue that the Bermuda Connection project & the A444 Corridor Improvement Programme are part of the same scheme BUT initially they were 2 separate projects with 2 distinctly separate business cases & it was only after the Bermuda Connection was granted funding that it was then adopted into the A444 corridor improvement programme.
If you look in the Road Safety Audit document you will see our (the Bermuda Bridge Action Group) notes highlighting important parts of the document which the public need to be aware of.
SAFETY AUDIT RSA2199 Bermuda Connectivity WITH BBAG COMMENTS
There is also 21 PDF’s containing drawings of the route with issues highlighted which have not picked up in the safety audit.
These drawings have been taken directly from the drawing which has been issued by Warwickshire County Council via their online consultation web portal.
These drawings cover sections of the proposed Bermuda Connection scheme from the top (Heath End Road) to the bottom (Griff Island).
